Vizually Expressed Social Media Campaign
During my third semester at Lone Star College, one of my smaller classes was asked to divide into two groups and come up with assets to promote a yearly event that the Visual Communications department held known as Vizually Expressed. The purpose of the event was almost like an open house, to a certain extent - people from the general public were welcome to come and see what the campus had to offer as far as classes and programs, and there were guest speakers with panels that people could attend to learn more about certain industries. Each year had a certain focus or theme. We were asked to work with the theme of "growth."
So naturally, plants came to mind.

The event was to be held, funnily enough, on my birthday, so I was very keen to get my group's design chosen for the event and branding. We came up with the idea of showcasing the different aspects of visual design by incorporating some of the types of software used in the VisComm department. We split a flower design into fourths and gave each corner a "format" - the top left was Photoshop, where the petals of the flower were recolored using Photoshop's various painting tools and blending modes; the top right was the flower as seen as a vector graphic made in Illustrator; the bottom left was also made in Illustrator but was intended to be a "3D version" of the flower; and the bottom right was a hand-drawn sketch done by me, edited to look like it was done in blue pencil on graph paper.
Though the event was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, I believe they used our group's design for the electronic marquee outside the CyFair campus before it was called off. Yay!
