Carrd Link Page
As someone who is a self-confessed Twitter addict, I can tell you that it's hard to choose what exactly you want people to see when they first visit your profile. Your display name and tag line are important, but so is your link. You may have a bunch of other social media you want them to check out. Maybe you've got a portfolio website. Or maybe you have some big list of important links that you want to share with the world (such as links to petitions, fundraisers, Black Lives Matter info, etc.) and thus, one link simply won't do.
Carrd was supposed to be my temporary solution for not having a true portfolio site (and if you're reading this, ta da - I finally made one!), but I honestly like the simplicity of it. Most people who see my Twitter are the other artists I follow on the site, so I placed the focus on getting them to relevant pages: my art account on Instagram, my brand's Facebook page, my TeePublic and Redbubble product stores, and my Ko-Fi for tips. It was a neat, small space to exercise the "less is more" mentality and display my newly-designed branding style, mirroring the design I chose for my resume and business card. Best of all, it's quick to load on both desktop and mobile, so no matter how people are browsing, they can find my shops fairly quickly. |
